UBB implements the Semester Credit Unit (SCU) System. This system enunciates study load of the student. Student study load for Bachelor degree program is between 144 and 160 SCU, meanwhile for Diploma program is between 110 and 120 SCU.
The amount of sit-in-class times for lecture and students are 16 times in one semester. UBB makes something compulsory to lecturer and students to obey the system. As the quality of teaching and learning is concerned, UBB always evaluates its curriculum in order to fulfill present and future needs.
Students
Up to now, 1700 students are registered in UBB. Every year, UBB will accommodate 800 students from all around Indonesia through New Student Entry Requirements. There is a special requirement for those who have an outstanding academic achievement during their study at senior high school. Students also have an opportunity to express their interests and hobbies during their study at UBB through Student Activity unit. Sports, choirs, spiritual, English Club are some activities which they can participate in. Furthermore, 13% students of UBB hold scholarships from many institutions both from private and state.
Lecturers
139 lecturers as permanent employee are supporting UBB in academic activities. Most of them were graduated from the famous universities such as ITB, UGM, IPB, University of Wollongong, University of South Australia, Monash University and Hogeschol van Utrecht. Meanwhile, 19 lecturers are now still taking their further study (Master and Doctoral) at ITB, IPB, UGM, and Flinders University.
Outstanding Achievements
2 years after establishment of UBB, the outstanding achievements that UBB gained are The 2006 National Best Young Researcher and one of UBB lecturer was recognized as an assessor of National Accreditation Board which conducts assessment and evaluates higher education institutions to gain an accreditation (quality standard of education). More achievements in research and publication activities and education development are also gained by the other lecturers and students.
